Clay-mation Comedy | Film Notes
“Mary and Max” is Wallace and Gromit style animation for adults. It travels to some of life’s dark places and its central theme concerns the effects of Asperger’s Syndrome. Whimsical clay characters, lots of humour and a wonderful narration from Philip Seymour Hoffman allow us to explore a flawed relationship between an eight-year-old girl living in the suburbs of Melbourne, and Max, a forty-four-year old, severely obese man living in New York.
