The Kid With A Bike won the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes 2011. It’s a film by Belgian brothers Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne, who have a strong empathy with young people. Their subjects are parents, children, alienation and rebellion. When you are shunned by your dad and have your bicycle stolen, life can be tough. That’s when the tough get going.
