Winchester Film Society is a not-for-profit society whose quest is to bring the best of world and independent cinema to film lovers in and around Winchester. We’ve been running for more than 50 years!

We show sixteen films per year, from October to May, every other Tuesday at 7pm. Films are screened at Winchester’s spectacular Science Centre and Planetarium. With a seating capacity of 168, full surround video and Dolby Surround sound, it’s an incredible audio-visual experience. The reclining seats make for a brilliant view, and there is a bar on site serving drinks, snacks and ice creams to enjoy in the auditorium.

Each cinema season is skilfully curated by our film-loving panel of volunteers, with notes presented for all features, the chance to vote on each film and to make recommendations for future showings. The movies we show are often difficult to see at cinemas elsewhere and truly worthy of a cinematic experience.
